Young Preservation Association Report:
Historic Preservation Creates Jobs!
On May 20, 2010, YPA and Pennsylvania Works! released a new report that details the economic
impact of historic preservation in southwestern Pennsylvania.
The report, called The Economic
Impact of Historic Preservation in Southwestern Pennsylvania demonstrates the power of historic
preservation to stimulate investment, generate taxes, create new housing units, and create jobs
for Pennsylvanians that cannot be outsourced.
Visit YPA's web site and read the report.

In 2009, Dormont Borough was on the receiving end of $436,000 from the Pennsylvania DCNR to assist in the renovations of the pool!
$165,000 more is also expected to be received. The financial support from the DCNR is for sandblasting, painting and work on the bath house.
The grants provided by the DCNR have been instrumental in many of the completed, ongoing and upcoming repairs to the pool.
Your continued support makes a difference. This past year, the Friends of Dormont Pool were able to present a $50,000
check to Dormont Borough!
